World Bee Day-May 20

How much do you know about Bees? Bees are not only to provide honey. Science says that without Bees life would be difficult. Because they are the most efficient pollinators of plants. But in fact Bees and other pollinators such as Butterflies, Bats, and Hummingbirds are increasingly under threat from human activities. To raise awareness of the importance of Bees and other pollinators May 20 is celebrated as World Bee Day. The date chosen was the birthday anniversary of beekeeping pioneer Anton Jansa from Slovenia.
In 2000, the International Pollinator Initiative (IPI) was established (COP decision V/5, section II) at the Fifth Conference of Parties (COP V) as a cross-cutting initiative to promote the sustainable use of pollinators in agriculture and related ecosystems.
