National Mountain Climbing Day

 National Mountain Climbing Day is celebrated every year on August 1 to promote mountain climbing which further facilitates good health. The day was established ot honour Boby Mathews and Josh Madigan, for successfully climbing the 46 High Peaks of New York State’s the Adirondack Mountains.

It was on August 1, 2015 that Mathews and Madigan achieved the feat of successfully scaling the 46 peaks of the Adirondack Mountains in the state of New York. 

Mountain climbing is an adventure activity with many advantages. It helps to improve one's self esteem and mental strength.
