National Girl Child Day - January 24

National Girl Child Day is celebrated in India every year on January 24 to spread awareness about inequalities that girls face in Indian society, and also to promote the importance of a girl child's education, health, and nutrition. The day was first celebrated in 2008 by the Ministry of Women and Child Development and government of India.
